Practical skills, practiced with people who understand

The group is open to anyone dealing with substance use. Each session is practical: you learn strategies and skills for handling the emotions and outside circumstances that set off the urge to use, and you practice them alongside people working on the same thing.

Not a 12-step group

The approach is CBT and SMART Recovery, so there are no steps to work and no single belief system to adopt. People from spiritual and non-spiritual backgrounds alike find it helpful.

What lies beneath the urge

Sobriety is the goal, and so is understanding what drives the compulsion to use. The group is a safe, non-judgmental space where members support each other in both.

Care led by Robert Clark, LPC

Robert Clark is a Dallas Licensed Professional Counselor who helps people find real relief through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy — an evidence-based approach he describes as therapist and client working collaboratively toward change. He pursued advanced CBT training at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia, where the method was developed.

His approach is personal. As an undergraduate, Robert survived a life-threatening cancer diagnosis and a bone-marrow transplant — an experience that taught him to “suffer well” and shaped the warm, steady, judgment-free way he walks with clients through their own hardest seasons.
