Trauma doesn't have to run the show

When something overwhelming happens, the mind and body can stay on high alert long after the event — showing up as flashbacks, nightmares, being easily startled, avoidance, or feeling numb and disconnected. These are normal responses to abnormal experiences, and they can get better with the right support.

An approach that goes at your pace

Robert uses evidence-based, trauma-informed methods and never pushes you to relive more than you are ready for. Safety and trust come first; the work moves only as fast as feels manageable for you.

  • Build a sense of safety and steadiness first
  • Learn tools to manage flashbacks, anxiety, and overwhelm
  • Process difficult experiences gradually, on your terms
  • Reconnect with the present and the people and things you care about

You are not broken

Many people carry trauma quietly for years, assuming it is just who they are now. It is not. With support, the past can take up less space — leaving more room for your life today.

Trauma therapy FAQ

Will I have to talk about the trauma in detail?

Not before you are ready. The work starts with safety and coping skills; processing the experience itself happens gradually and only at a pace you control.

What methods do you use?

Robert works from an evidence-based, trauma-informed CBT foundation, always paced to what feels manageable for you. On a first call he can walk through the approach and whether it is the right fit.

Do you take insurance?

We are private-pay by choice — we do not bill insurance. That is what keeps sessions unhurried and fully confidential, with no diagnosis codes, session limits, or volume pressure shaping your care. The rate is straightforward, and often close to what you would pay out of pocket on a plan.

If you are in crisis, call or text 988. To book, call (214) 907-0089.
